In fact if you wanna take that yougov link literally, only 28% don't consider themselves British to some degree.
Is that a "small minority" or not, hg?

Re: Come on The Gers

I genuinely never would have considered the UK a “country” if that’s the official term then fair enough.
So it’s 4 countries making up one big country? Is that right? Or is England not officially a country? And why do they have separate national teams?

I think it;s safe to say that people from Wales & Scotland consider themselves Welsh & Scottish.
So going back to the question, do English people regard themselves as firstly being UKers?

No. I'm English and British. A bit like you're Irish and British. Except I'm not pissed off about it.
You seem not to know the difference between 'nation' and 'state'

They're British citizens living in the country of the UK. My point is that referring to yourself as English doesn't magically make the UK not a country.

I know people who literally refuse to identify themselves as anything other than scouse.
This doesn't make Liverpool a country.

"You can jump between different countries in the EU without having to go through immigration, work between the countries in the EU without any sort of special visa"
Norwegian citizens can do this in Iceland, Sweden, Finland and Denmark. And the same if you jumble the countries around.
By your logic, this makes them all one big country.
Just accept you had a mare and stop digging.

Simple question. Can the EU declare war on behalf of its constituent states, including neutral Ireland and Sweden.
If not, you are talking shit.

I suspect someone on here is having a, um, paddy.
Since the EU is a sovereign state, HG, what would happen if it exercised one of a sovereign state's most powerful foreign policy tools and declared war on, say, Turkey?
Would the UK, France and Germany be compelled to mobilise and fight or are you talking shit?
